In the wake of the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 individuals—including her husband, Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal—his widow, Himanshi Narwal, has issued a heartfelt appeal to the nation.

Speaking at a blood donation camp organized in Karnal, Haryana, on the occasion of Lt. Narwal’s birth anniversary, Himanshi urged citizens not to target Muslims or Kashmiris in the aftermath of the tragedy. She emphasized, “We want peace and only peace. Of course, we want justice,” highlighting the importance of unity and understanding during such challenging times.

The attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, was carried out by militants who reportedly asked victims to identify their religion before opening fire. Among the deceased was Lt. Narwal, who had been married just six days prior. Himanshi recounted the harrowing incident, stating, “I was eating bhel puri, and my husband was with me. A person came and asked if he was a Muslim. When he denied, the man shot him dead.”

In the aftermath, Himanshi has become a symbol of resilience and compassion, advocating for peace and justice. Her message resonates with many, urging the nation to stand united and reject divisive narratives.

The Pahalgam attack has not only left a deep scar on the nation but has also sparked debates about the need for communal harmony and the importance of safeguarding the values of peace and unity. As the investigation continues, the call for justice grows louder, with citizens and leaders alike emphasizing the need for accountability and reconciliation.

In this time of grief, Himanshi Narwal’s appeal serves as a poignant reminder of the power of love, unity, and the collective responsibility to uphold peace.
